GCME Advances Its Data Center Capability with an Engineer Accredited as a Tier Designer (ATD) by Uptime Institute

The purpose of data center design extends well beyond accommodating IT equipment and systems. It must give owners the assurance that the facility will keep operating even when components fail or must be taken out of service for maintenance.

Among the professional accreditations recognized within this industry is the Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) program of Uptime Institute, which applies the Tier Standard, from Tier I through Tier IV, to design work in practice, covering redundancy, concurrent maintainability, fault tolerance and continuous cooling.

GCME places continuing importance on developing the capability of its people across every discipline. Most recently, Mr. Pramote Sin-Ao completed the Uptime Institute program and passed the accreditation examination, earning the Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) endorsement and a listing on the Institute’s ATD Roster, a public register open to verification.

This advance reinforces GCME’s Data Center Design & Engineering capability to support clients from the earliest stages of a project, from reviewing designs to identify a single point of failure, to verifying whether concurrent maintainability is genuinely achievable, to assessing how far an existing facility stands from the Tier objective a project has set.

It marks a further step for GCME in extending its Design & Engineering capability into Data Centers & Mission Critical Facilities, and in delivering solutions that span consultation and design through to asset support across the operating life cycle.
