On 6 August 2026, GC Maintenance and Engineering Co., Ltd. (GCME) organized a Community of Practice (CoP) session in collaboration with the Corrosion, Metallurgy, Inspection & QA/QC CoP (CMI & QA/QC CoP) of PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) under the topic “Advanced Inspection Technologies for Asset Integrity Management” and the concept “Enhancing Asset Integrity through Advanced Inspection Technologies.” The session brought together approximately 40 participants from PTTEP and GCME.
The CoP provided a platform for exchanging technical knowledge, practical experience, and approaches to applying advanced inspection technologies to enhance Asset Integrity Management. GCME specialists shared technology principles, recommended applications, and practical case studies, connecting advanced inspection capabilities with real-world asset integrity challenges.
The knowledge-sharing session covered four key areas:
- Corrosion Under Pipe Support (CUPS) Inspection – Practical applications of QSR1 and PA-CAT technologies for detecting corrosion under pipe supports, including inspection challenges, technology comparison, recommended applications, and case studies.
- Acoustic Emission Testing (AE) – Application of Acoustic Emission technology for Asset Integrity Assessment, covering the fundamentals of AE technology and knowledge sharing on FRP inspection research.
- Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) Inspection – Application of Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) technology for corrosion under insulation inspection, together with Digital Innovations for Turnkey CUI Management, technology overview, and practical case studies.
- Advanced Tube Inspection for Heat Exchangers – Advanced tube inspection technologies including ECA, NFA, RFA, and APR, covering tube inspection challenges, technology selection, case studies, and the limitations of each inspection method.
The CoP reflects GCME’s approach to combining its expertise in Plant Inspection and Advanced NDT with practical field experience, while engaging directly with customers to identify inspection technologies best suited to specific asset challenges. This collaborative knowledge exchange supports more effective, safe, and reliable Asset Integrity Management over the long term.
